1. Overview

DesPrep (“we”, “us”, “our”), operated at desprep.com, is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

  • Email address — collected at signup and used to identify your account, send transactional emails, and recover access.
  • Name — optional, if provided during signup or Google OAuth.
  • SAT test date — optional, entered by you on the dashboard to personalise your study plan.

Usage data

  • Problems attempted, answers submitted, and time spent per problem.
  • Technique progress and practice session history.
  • Daily activity used to calculate your practice streak.
  • Desmos calculator state snapshots saved when you submit a problem attempt, used to power expert replay comparisons.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details. We receive only a subscription status indicator and billing metadata from Stripe.

Technical data

Standard server logs may include your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This data is used for security monitoring and is not linked to your personal profile.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and maintain your account.
  • To personalise your study plan and track your progress.
  • To process payments and manage your subscription.
  • To send transactional emails (e.g., password reset, weekly progress summary).
  • To improve the quality and content of the Service.
  • To detect and prevent abuse or fraudulent activity.

4. We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Full stop.

5. Third-Party Services

We share data with third-party providers only as necessary to operate the Service:

  • Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication.
  • Stripe — processes payments. Governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
  • Resend — delivers transactional emails.
  • Vercel — hosts the application and serves web traffic.

Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

6. Cookies

DesPrep uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Authentication cookies — session tokens set by Supabase to keep you logged in. These are essential for the Service to function.
  • Preference cookies — small values stored in your browser’s local storage (e.g., sidebar state). These persist your UI preferences across visits.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings; doing so will log you out of your account.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records).

8. Children’s Privacy

DesPrep is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will promptly delete the account.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated date. For significant changes, we will notify you by email.
